Live-in Careworker
Live-In Care Worker
Feel right at home as a provider of personalised domiciliary care
As a Live-In Care Worker, you will reside in a client’s home and assist them with their everyday living. This will involve a variety of tasks, including providing personal care, helping with mobility, overseeing medication and performing light housework. You will fulfil a role similar to that of a caring family member, but one who is fully trained, on-site at all times and always acting to the highest professional standards.
Each client has their individual care package. You will be expected to meet these needs precisely as well as use your own initiative when required. The client’s dignity must be respected at all times, as must their desire to maintain their independence and personal preferences.

Companionship
Importantly, a Live-In Care Worker is also there to provide companionship. Your presence in the home is not just to deliver care, it is to offer friendship and stimulation through conversation and shared activities.
Another aspect of your duties is to record all relevant information and keep it secure and confidential, for example:
- Care and support provided
- Medicines administered
- Changes to the client’s condition
- Any comments or concerns
- Any potential hazards or issues in the home
- Contact with family members and other professionals.
Live-In caring is rewarding for you, as well as the client
Before we assign a Live-In Carer, we go to great lengths to assess the appropriateness of the workload for this kind of support. By ensuring the circumstances and the conditions are appropriate for live-in care, you can be sure that you will not be placed anywhere unsuitable.
While Live-In caring is responsible and sometimes tough work, it will really add value to your life, as well as to the life of the client. You’ll really get to know the person you’re providing care for. With your help, they will be able to do the things that matter most to them while remaining in the comfort of their own home.
You will receive thorough training before you start working, and receive regular booster sessions to help you to continue delivering the highest standard of care. And, with a 24-hour supervisor always on hand should you need help, you’ll never be on your own.
